Partners for Consumer Health

This ILA preconference, co-sponsored by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Pacific Northwest Region, and the Idaho Commission for Libraries, is great example of partnering to provide consumer health information. Jeanne Farnsworth from Portneuf Library District, and Marsha Francis from Idaho State University Idaho Health Science Library, shared how they partner with other community entities to deliver consumer health information to young adults through the "Get Real, Get Fit" activity.

Today's key to success was the hands-on activities to assess community resources, as well as to develop and deliver the message to the community. Each community, large and small, has resources in their schools, government agencies, community organizations, businesses which can be excellent partners to deliver consumer health information to end users.

ICFL will utilize WebJunction Idaho to create a community of practice where Idaho libraries can share consumer health information resources and activities.
