Summer Reading

Our program is part of the Collaborative Summer Library Program.We support summer reading because we know that children who read over the summer will maintain or improve their reading readiness when they go back to school. We also know that libraries and kids go together! Join us in the summer of 2009 to "Be Creative @ Your Library" for kids birth to 11 and "Express Yourself @ Your Library" for ages 12 and up.

Bright Futures Begin with Summer Reading!
Almost every Idaho public library has a summer reading program that encourages kids of all ages to read for fun. To help our libraries build and strengthen summer reading participation the Commission offers the following programs:

Idaho public libraries may apply for any and all of our Bright Futures programs. For more information click on the links above, or you can go directly to the online application. By participating in a program, libraries can earn books, supplies and give-away items for children. The application process for the 2009 Bright Futures Summer Reading Opportunities will be on-line only. The deadline for applications is March 17, 2009. Books, supplies and give-away items are limited, so submit your application as soon as possible!
